The Compassionate Friends Annual Candlelight Service for 2020 was held at a new Venue, the Annerley Baptist Church in Annerley.
Bruce and Peter from the Baptist Church looked after the sound and lighting for our event so it ran smoothly.
The Church was light and airy and had overhead fans, and a lovely platform for our Memory Table and Candelabra.
There was also ample free parking at the back of the Church Hall, so that made it easy for those members who were able to attend.
As well as the uncertainty of running a large event during the Corona virus restrictions we were also unlucky with the weather.
Unfortunately the rain was around all day, at times it was quite a heavy downpour. The rain kept on into the night, and discouraged many from attending, and as a result, numbers were down on previous years. However overall we still had over 50 members and friends and those present celebrated our children, siblings and grandchildren.
As usual, the International Candle was lit at 7pm, and reflections held. Afterwards we had light refreshments in the Church Hall.
Our special thanks to those members who attended and gave readings, to Cathy Comiskey who provided beautiful live guitar music and songs for the evening, and to the many volunteers who gave their time and effort to ensure the event went ahead.
