Volunteers

Volunteers are the heart and soul of TCF. Without their dedication and help, we would not be able to support parents grieving the death of a child in the way we do — we are a volunteer-based organisation.

Why become a volunteer?

People volunteer for many different reasons – some like to be busy, some have spare time, others want to meet new people or learn new skills.

But at TCF, most people tell us they want to volunteer because they want to 'put something back' – they know how much support they received when they needed it, and like to be doing something in memory of their child. It gives them a great sense of satisfaction. At TCF support is a two way street. Whilst you are volunteering and helping others, you usually find that you are also helping yourself.

The availability and efforts of our volunteers vary considerably. Some volunteers work full time and can only contribute after hours or on weekends. Others have a more flexible lifestyle and able to give more freely of their time and energy. Any contribution is valued.
