Membership of The Compassionate Friends is open to parents, grandparents and siblings who have experienced the death of a child. The term 'membership' is used loosely as there is little formal organisation.
Parents and families come as they wish to our support meetings for as long as their needs are met. It is not necessary to attend the support meetings to access our other services and resources, such as telephone listeners and library materials. Present at every meeting are parents who have worked through their own grief and who can empathize with the bereaved family and truly be with them.
Parents and families receive a copy of the bi-monthly newsletter free of charge for the first six months. To continue receiving the newsletter after this introductory period, a membership fee of $25 per annum will be payable. If you are unable to pay at that time and would still like to receive our newsletter, please contact us as no-one is turned away.
Members also have the option of placing a tribute photo of their child on our Memorial Wall, memorial and birthday notices in the newsletter, as well as accessing our library services and attending the annual grief and loss seminar.
TCF Membership fosters a feeling of belonging to community that really understands your grief. By becoming a TCF Qld member, you are also ensuring parents and families can continue to be supported after the loss of their child.
Membership fee is $25 per annum, with fees due in August each year.
If you wish to become a member, please contact the Drop in Centre, or download and fill out the membership form pdf from the button below and post back to the Drop in Centre.
To remain a member, membership forms must be filled out each year to be returned to us along with the annual fee.
A membership form was posted with the latest newsletter. If you aren't currently a member and would like to become one, please contact the office or download the membership form below.
Thank you very much to all our members who have renewed their subscriptions and a very special “Thank You” to those who included extra as a donation.
Should anyone want to continue receiving the newsletter but are unable to pay the fees at this time, would you please contact the office. It is TCF's express desire that anyone who needs the support of our newsletter is not disadvantaged by their circumstances. The newsletter is costly to produce and post and your subscription fees allow us to continue to compile this very important resource, especially for those families in remote and rural areas.
Please note, should you have first made contact with TCF in the last few months, you are entitled to three free editions of the newsletter and when this period has expired you will be notified regarding fees due.
As we continually update our database we would be most appreciative if you could complete the front and back section of the membership form.
